Transition to Race Block Plan

Every athlete will come to that point in the season where they worked up to their major peak and still need to maintain fitness if not still increase it through the remainder of the race year.  The following is a Transition to Race Block which I use when coming off a Peak into the core or middle of my race season.  Again, intensities are kept at there highest during intervals and lowest during recovery efforts.  One day a week is used for endurance to get in big miles.  This plan is meant for a cyclist, but the core elements are there for other sport disciplines.  Stretching, core, bands, and meditation are also large components moving forward and should not be forgotten.
