4 Week Block Plan / 2 weeks Build and 2 Weeks PEAK


Sometimes in your training you might run into a month or a short period before an "A" Race where there is two weeks of Building going into two weeks of PEAKING.  On my Race Schedule this occurs late June into July in preparation for the MidWest Championships.  The following block plan describes this and also the weekly training plan going into its first week.  Every week should be carefully followed so that the body is building and recovering.  Finally, those final two weeks will seem awkward from the point of a complete different approach to the final previous weeks.  During Peak weeks, intervals are more intense, longer, and more often, whereas Endurance is forgotton.  Peak weeks and Rest Days off the bike become your favorite treat.
